The easiest, most delicious homemade granola bars – tasting better than the chocolate chip quaker oat bars!

Growing up the chewy chocolate chip granola bars were my absolute favorite to pack in my lunchbox to bring to school. I wanted to remake them, but a bit healthier! These are so easy to make, and it was great to be able to wrap them up individually for lunches.

I hope you are these and share how they turned out for you!

better than store bought granola bars!

4 cups oats

4 cups rice cereal

1 stick butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

2/3 cup honey

1 tbsp vanilla extract

pinch of salt

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

in a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar and honey. Still until fully dissolved and let simmer for about 2 minutes. add a pinch of salt and vanilla at the end.

combined the oats and rice cereal together then transfer your melted honey mixture on top. fold. add mini chocolate chips in once fully cooled.

I have a granola bar mold (from pampered chef) but if you do not, line a cookie sheet with plastic wrap and spread out oat mixture evenly. you can use a rolling pin to help evenly flat our the oat mixture if need be. place in the fridge for an hour, remove and cut into small rectangle bars! if using the mold just remove from mold and enjoy!
