Homemade Pumpkin Bread

Stop buying your sandwich bread from the store!




2 cups warm water
1/4 cup sugar
1 + 1/2 tbsp active dry yeast
2 tsp salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup organic pumpkin puree

6 cups flour

In a large bowl add sugar & yeast to warm water. Whisk and set aside for 5-10 minutes. Next add salt + oil and stir. Lastly add in pumpkin puree. Begin adding the flour – one cup at a time! By the time I get to the last cup I use my hands to mix. Transfer dough to floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes. Place dough in oiled bowl and cover for an hour. Punch! Remove and knead for another few minutes. Halve the dough and place into two greased loaf pans – cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Brush with butter + sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Remove cover and pop in the oven at 350f for 30 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool. Enjoy!
