This simple and delicious baked Apple Bread is a versatile, satisfying, and heavenly fall dish. Perfect for a quick dessert or even breakfast, the flavors of fresh apples, warm spices, and a sweet cream cheese frosting come together beautifully.
Cinnamon, sugar, vanilla, and apples – fall never sounded (or tasted) better. An autumnal twist on a classic Banana Bread, this Apple Bread recipe is as simple as it gets and makes the whole house smell like apple pie.
You don’t have to be Martha Stewart to entertain during the fall time with this decadent bread.
Even though they tell you not to play with your food, I’ve always loved making designs and getting creative with my food. It’s what brought me to this lovely recipe! Not only does it taste incredible but it looks beautiful with the layers of thinly sliced apples sitting on top of the bread.
Not to mention, this Apple Bread is so pillow-soft because of the blend of Greek yogurt and coconut oil. Using yogurt makes the dough rise quicker (and more than in a classic bread load recipe), so you not only get a moist loaf, but it also takes less time in the oven!
Coconut oil has a similar effect, giving the bread a solid and fluffy texture. Once baked, your Apple Bread will slice beautifully and practically melt in your mouth. Mixed with all the warm fall flavors and the slices of fresh apple, you are going to find this dish calling to you in your dreams.
Of course, with delicious flavors like apple and cinnamon, it’s pretty hard to mess up this recipe. However, to make the best Apple Bread, I would be sure to use an apple variety that you really like. This way, when you bite into those thin slices of apple on the top of the apple bread, you’ll be relishing in the flavors you really love.
Whether that’s the tartness of Granny Smith or the light, refreshing sweetness of a Golden Delicious, it’s all up to you!
One thing I love to do every time I make my Apple Bread is add a classic Cream Cheese Frosting (see recipe below) or a thin glaze to turn this into a delightful dessert. In my opinion, there’s nothing like a smooth, rich cream cheese glaze to top off an already fantastic sweet treat.
A cream cheese frosting or glaze is a great way to spruce up bread, cakes, or pastries without making an overly sweet or time-consuming topping. You can add this to things like Sweet & Healthy Fall Nachos or Pumpkin French Toast to bring it to the next level.
It is simple to prepare and tastes great. All you do is mix a little cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a splash of vanilla extract to get the right consistency.
What’s even more fun is you can alter the recipe slightly to get fun variations that fit your tastes and preferences. For instance, you could swap the white sugar for some brown sugar, which has a deep, caramel or toffee-like flavor due to the added molasses and could work really well in this Apple Bread.
You could also add figs, dates, pecans, walnuts, chocolate chips, caramel chips, and more to play around with even more variations.
All in all, if you get a craving for something sweet and you have some apples on hand, this is the perfect recipe to turn to.
